Australian standards for light and heavy-duty vehicle emissions are modeled on European regulations (currently Euro V for both) and are codified under the third edition Australian Design Rules (ADRs). Air Quality Standards were created in 1998 and focus on six primary pollutants – CO, O3, SO2, NO2, lead, and particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5).
