While Russia currently applies the Euro V Standards to all light and heavy-duty vehicles that are manufactured in or imported to Russia, standards have consistently lagged behind those of the rest of Europe by 6 – 10 years. The Russian Ministry of Industry and Energy also requires the use of Euro V fuel with a maximum of 10 ppm sulfur.
