History
South Korea’s Ministry of Environment began regulating motorcycle and three-wheeled vehicle emissions in 1991. Since then, the Ministry of Environment has harmonized its emissions standards with the EU’s standards beginning with Euro 2 in 2006 for two-wheeled vehicles. Two years later, the Ministry increased its standards for two-wheeled vehicles to Euro 3 and implemented Euro 2 standards for three-wheeled vehicles.
