The most recent amendment, Supreme Decree No. 029-2021-MINAM, which modifies Supreme Decree No. 010-2017-MINAM, was made on 30 November 2017. Critical steps in Peru’s heavy-duty vehicle emission control program are as follows:
- Since 1 January 2003, all new heavy-duty have been required to meet Euro II requirements.
- Since 2007, new heavy-duty vehicles have been required to meet Euro III requirements.
- Starting on April 1, 2018, new heavy-duty vehicles must meet Euro IV requirements.
- Starting October 1, 2024, new heavy-duty vehicles must meet Euro VI/A requirements.
